One dress and a million stories
Probably you never thought about it before, but what goes through your mind when you get a compliment about the garment you’ve worn? The place where you bought it, why you bought it, the places where you used it, what you felt when you used it, and so on … This whole junction of events and emotions forms different stories about you in relation to that piece of clothing. However, the story begins long before you buy it. In fact, the story begins long before it’s made.
Every piece of clothing carries with it a dream, high and low expectations, achievements, successes and a lot of opportunities. Such stories are irrelevant to us when they are unknown to us. But when we know the story, our relationship with that clothing changes, matching the length of its existence beyond the time it was made. Then we use it not only for vanity but for what it represents. As is the case with this wonderful dress.
The dress was made by Mariana Ngombo, an Angolan designer living in the Netherlands. Mariana is one of the women I know who inspire me enough to believe and to persist in my dreams. Dreamy, fighter, persistent, visionary and fairly disciplined, she created the brand name with all the ups and downs that come with it.
So my story with this dress starts long before it was even made. Whenever I use it I will remember Mariana, how she had to believe in her dream, fight, persist and accomplish. If you want to know more about her, follow her here and keep an eye on the blog, because I will share her full story very soon.
For today, I brought you just one of her creations as a suggestion for those who have a party or are just going out later today. Well, of course, the dress is astonishing, I have combined it with closed shoes because it is very short for me and, added a handbag matching the print of the dress. But to the look more complete and to pump you up with pride about the dress and everything it represents, I added this headscarf in the same fabric as the dress.
I hope you have enjoyed it and may God bless you. Do not forget to dream and always fight for the fulfillment of your dreams.
